Oct-Nov. 2013
Jacqueline Spiro, my “Glass Casting” teacher at Pilchuck School had extended an invitation for her students to go and further our learning at her home/studio in Colorado. We thought .. why not? Me and my wife decided to go but our trip to the mainland needed to be more than that so we embarked on a 6 week road trip starting in Seattle, for the Pilchuck Glass Auction. There, one of my Volcano pieces was up for auction. It was a very fun and a full energy evening!
Our Road trip started by driving south from Seattle to Los Angeles, across to Vegas, Colorado, Minnesota and New York. Some of the trip was driving, some flying. It was a lot of fun and definitely cold, at least for us warm blooded people, coming from Hawaii.
Pilchuck Auction – The beginning of the Road trip
We visited the best Glass Museums and the best galleries. We met incredible people. A very fun and inspiring experience indeed.
Arriving in Colorado
Driving a really tiny car on the icy dangerous roads! We were definitely not from a place that snows!
