School Fieldtrip visits the shop
Lila, the local Charter School Art teacher, asked if she could bring her junior high art students over for a field trip to the studio while we were working. So we arranged a day and when they showed up, Nils, my apprentice didn’t realize that the students were going to be his fellow class mates. I think that for Nils, being witness by his classmates, was an experience that made him appreciate even more, being part of this team. The kids were inspired and they all got a glimpse of what it means to create in an environment of artistic expression beyond the classroom and out into the real world.
It was fun to have them witness the process and to commingle with their fresh perspectives and authentic questions.
